How much RAM do you really need?

• 4GB: only basic browsing and documents; it will feel slow today.
• 8GB: the sensible minimum for students and office work.
• 16GB: programming, design, many browser tabs and light video editing.
• 32GB or more: heavy video editing, 3D work and virtual machines.
• Check whether the RAM is upgradable; some thin laptops have it soldered.

Dual-channel (two sticks) is faster than one big stick.
