Laptop will not turn on? Check these first

Check the power

• Try another wall socket or extension board.
• Look for the charger light. No light means a faulty charger or cable.
• Remove the charger, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then plug in and try again.

If it still stays dead

• Take out any USB devices and memory cards, then try again.
• If the battery is removable, take it out and start with the charger only.

A laptop that gets no response at all may have a motherboard or battery fault, so bring it to a technician.
