How much RAM and storage does a phone need?

• 4GB RAM: basic use; 6GB: good for most people; 8GB or more: gaming and heavy apps.
• 64GB storage fills quickly. 128GB is the sensible minimum today.
• Choose 256GB if you shoot a lot of video.
• Some phones offer 'extended RAM' that borrows storage; it is not the same as real RAM.
• Check that the phone has a memory card slot if you want more space later.

Spend extra on storage rather than on a bigger camera number.
